|Anna Laycock 01/09/17|| Sue Hosiene’s retirement service
To all parishes in the Diocese of Coventry:
As some of you will know Sue will be retiring from the diocese on the 31st October after 40 years service.
On Sunday 8th October within the 10.30am service at Coventry Cathedral there will be a Eucharist to celebrate Sue’s time with the diocese and her work with the parishes.
Everyone is warmly invited to attend this service which will be followed by coffee and cake in the west end of the Cathedral.

Excellent standards of governance are essential for the Diocesan Board of Finance, which needs to be demonstrably trustworthy as it stewards the financial affairs of the Diocese. The Audit Committee has a vital role in helping the DBF achieve these standards and we are looking for a new member. Whether this might be you or someone you know, please read the letter from the Chair of the Committee linked to this article for the background and the type of skills and experience the Committee is looking for.

Where do I fit in God’s Story?
Are you or someone you know interested in exploring God’s calling?
On Wed 4th October we are running another Vocations Evening. These sessions aim to enable participants to consider God’s calling within a wider understanding of vocation as well as discovering more of their own calling in mission and ministry.
All are welcome to these sessions which are held at 7.30 – 9.30pm (including refreshments) at All Saints Church, Emscote (Warwick CV34 5NL).

|Anna Laycock 01/09/17|| Reminder – Ride & Stride – 9 September
Ride & Stride takes place very soon on Saturday 9th September, so please help us by contacting cyclists and walkers to ask them to join in.
Warwickshire and Coventry Historic Churches Trust raises funds for repairing and restoring churches, chapels and meeting rooms. Every Ride & Stride fundraiser will be raising money not only for WCHCT but also for their participating church, as proceeds are split 50:50.
Riders and Striders can plan their own routes and timings between 10am and 6pm. All forms and contact details are on our website.

Friends of the Holy Land will host a day of action on Saturday 30 September in support of Christians living in the West Bank, Gaza, Israel and Jordan. Since forming eight years ago, the apolitical charity has helped UK Christians express solidarity with Christians living in the Holy Land.

|Anna Laycock 30/08/17|| News Story – Funding Boost for St Peter & St John’s
St Peter and St John’s Church in Rugby has received a £10,000 National Churches Trust Community Grant to help build an extension to the church hall to house toilets, a reception and a meeting room. The church also received a £2000 National Churches Trust Micro-Grant in partnership with the Cinnamon Network to help set up a social action project to help local people.

Discipleship Challenge is an interactive workshop for those wanting to explore what discipleship means for 18-35 year olds in today’s culture.
It is designed to equip you to a better understanding of what amazing gifts this age group brings to the Church, the culture that they are in and how to effectively communicate with them so you leave feeling empowered and confident to reach and disciple this generation.

|Anna Laycock 30/08/17|| Dance into Worship weekend – 25-26 November
Dance into Worship is a national network open to all who want to “explore and develop the use of sacred dance as embodied worship.”
We want to invite you to come and dance at Coventry Cathedral on the weekend of the 25-26th of November. Experienced dancers and those dancing for the first time are welcome.
On the Saturday we will prepare three different dances: Kyrie eleison, Sanctus/Benedictus and Agnus Dei with music from the Mass in F minor (opus 36) by Charles-Marie Widor. The dances will be performed during the 10.30 am Cathedral Eucharist of Christ the King on Sunday.

|Anna Laycock 30/08/17 Flyer|| Christian Orthodox Choral Music Festival – 30 September
In the year of the 60th anniversary of Coventry – Belgrade twining, Coventry will be one of the cities hosting the first ever festival of Christian Sacred Orthodox vocal choirs in UK. The festival will be held over two days, in Birmingham and Coventry, with the aim to grow bigger in coming years.
The festival will feature two choirs, St Lazar Church’s choir, Lazarica, who’s members are from diverse communities from across West Midlands and the Konstantin Male Choir, who will fly over from Serbia for this special event.
The second evening of the festival will be held at St John the Baptist Church. See the flyer for more information.
