The June Prayer Diary includes news stories from Kenilworth deanery.
Please find attached two versions of the Prayer Diary. The consecutive format is recommended for displaying on a computer screen, or printing for home use; the booklet format is recommended for printing a double-sided booklet.
You can also download the Prayer Diary from the diocesan website. We aim to publish it on or before the 20th day of the preceding month (although it is sometimes delayed).

|Claire Strachan 18/05/17|| William & Jane Morris Fund
The next closing date for applications to the William and Jane Morris Fund is the 31st August 2017. The fund accepts applications from churches, chapels and other places of worship built before 1896. The Fund offers grants of between £500 – £3,000 towards work concerned with the conservation of decorative features such as: • Stained glass windows / Sculpture / Furniture / Internal monuments and tombs / Wall paintings; etc. The decorative feature, monument, etc must be dated before 1896 (the date of William Morris’s death). Applications for features dated after 1896, even if they are in churches dated before 1896, are not eligible.

|Ryan Finnegan 19/05/17 Flyer|| Icon Exhibition – 11-18 June
Members of the St Luke’s Icon Centre will be exhibiting their work during the Rowington Festival and will be available to meet and talk with visitors. You can watch them paint or try a sketch yourself.
There will be daily talks on different aspects of iconography exploring its meaning and relevance today. A daily time of prayer will give examples of different ways in which icons can help resource our devotional life. If you would like to know more about this sacred art and prayer form, join them to find out more.

On Saturday 24 June at 3:30pm and 8pm, St John’s Church, Kenilworth will host ‘Chosen’, by Saltmine Theatre Company.
‘Chosen’ is the inspiring life of Mary Sumner and Mothers’ Union. A moving story of compassion, faith and the inspiring force a company of women can be in a community, nation and the world.

From 4 June a number of churches around the Diocese will be organising Cherishing Churchyards events as part of Cherishing Churchyards Month. Please publicise these events as widely as possible in your church and please do visit and support them.

|Anna Laycock 18/05/17|| News Story – Come to the Ascension & Pentecost services
Everyone is invited to join the Ascension and Pentecost celebrations at Coventry Cathedral. The two special services will mark the beginning and end of Thy Kingdom Come – the global time of prayer between Ascension and Pentecost, 25th May – 4th June this year. Both services are free and no tickets are necessary.
