|Claire Strachan 29/03/17|| NCT Project Development Grant – Deadline Extended!
The Project Development grant programme is a pilot grant programme offering awards up to £10,000 to support churches to become more sustainable through the diagnosis of issues affecting the church, by testing the viability of proposed solutions to improve sustainability, and through development of guiding policies and plans that will be implemented through an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund, or other large church heritage funders.
For guidance notes, full criteria, priorities and a link to the online application form, follow the link below. The next deadline for applications has been extended to 10 May 2017 (it was 27 February).

This workshop will help you avoid the common pitfalls covering issues such as keeping to your budget, finding the right professionals and working with them effectively, understanding the practical processes, and raising funds, amongst many other things.

|Sarah Palmer 31/03/17|| Volunteers needed for National Funeral Exhibition
The Church of England will have a stand at the National Funeral Exhibition, the funeral industry’s main trade exhibition. This takes place at Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth on Friday 9 – Sunday 11 June 2017. The organisers are looking for clergy or Readers who might be able to help staff the stand. This is a trade show, so you would be talking to people that work in the funeral industry (including funeral directors) about what a Church of England funeral has to offer. |Ryan Finnegan 31/03/17|| Prayer for Christian Service – 8 May
All are welcome to attend Prayer for Christian Service which will take place on Monday 8 May from 4pm till 5pm in the Chapel of Unity, Coventry Cathedral. It will be introduced by Isabel McIntyre ,Coordinator of Coventry Street Pastors and they will hear about, and pray for, the Street Pastors, who patrol the city centre every Friday and Saturday night between 10pm and 3am.
“We are there to care for, listen to and help people who are out and about. Our aim is to ensure their safety”.

The Thy Kingdom Come 2017 section of the diocesan website has been updated.
The pages include details about the Ascension Service on Thursday 25th May at 7.30pm in Coventry Cathedral and the Pentecost Celebration which will take place as a festival style event in the afternoon of Sunday 4th June in the Cathedral ruins.

|Anna Laycock 29/03/17|| News Story – Bishop plants Yew Tree at St Andrews
Last week, the Bishop of Coventry, the Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth, planted a Yew Tree at St Andrew’s, Eastern Green. The tree was planted in celebration of St Andrew’s being the first church in the Diocese of Coventry to achieve an Eco Church Bronze Award.

In an address to the Diocesan Synod, the Bishop of Coventry spoke about his experience of the events surrounding the terrorist attack at Westminster. He also updated Synod about some important issues and events, and announced that Archdeacon John will be retiring at the end of August.

On Saturday 22 April at 2:30pm Spires Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing Brahms’ Symphony No4 in E minor and The Schubert Mass in A flat.
