Barbara Clutton, Diocesan Rural Officer, says “I would encourage all who have an interest in rural issues and the possible effects of Brexit to book for a day conference exploring the issues of Brexit and likely effects on rural communities, churches, agriculture and the environment”.
It will take place on Thursday 30 March from 10am till 4pm at The Arthur Rank Centre, Stoneleigh Park, CV8 2LG at a cost of £25 including all refreshments.

|Anna Laycock 01/02/17|| News Story – Bishop of Coventry visits Iraq
Last week, the Bishop of Coventry, the Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth, visited Iraq as part of a global delegation of church leaders. The 14-member delegation organised by the World Council of Churches (WCC) spent five days in Iraq, in both Baghdad and the northern Kurdistan region. During the trip, the delegation talked to political religious and humanitarian leaders about the future of vulnerable people in Iraq following the expected military defeat of so-called ‘Islamic state.’

We would welcome expressions of interest for this volunteer position which may, by permission of the Bishop, be carried out within the core working hours of an existing clergy post. The primary focus of this role is to assist in fulfilling the Diocesan Mission Purpose of Worshipping God, Making New Disciples, and Transforming Communities, principally by encouraging the development of 8 Essential Qualities throughout the life of the Diocese, especially with regard to Ecumenical Life.

Fresh Start is a new initiative by Together for Change. Led by Cultural Links Worker, Matt Robinson, Fresh Start aims to befriend and provide practical support for people from different cultural backgrounds. The Diocese of Coventry is rich in cultural diversity; with 20% of the population born outside of Britain, and the city of Coventry resettling more Syrian refugees than any other UK city.
