Update on work to lay new sewer in Warwick Road, Banbury

Hello.

You may have received our previous letter about work we started last week to lay a new sewer in the B4100 Warwick Road, one of the main roads into Banbury. We’re writing to tell you how we’ve updated our plans following feedback at a drop-in session we held on 27 June.

The sewer will connect new homes in the Hanwell Chase development to our sewer network. It will run from Persimmon Homes’ development site in Warwick Road to a point near the roundabout with Dukes Meadow Drive.

Oxfordshire County Council has kindly agreed to let us widen our work area by temporarily removing the footpath from one side of the road. We therefore need to only close the road for a maximum of 13 days, instead of eight weeks. Our plans are as follows:

 4 July to 11 September: Three-way lights on Warwick Road between the Dukes Meadow Drive roundabout and the site entrance, while we lay the first section of sewer.

12 September to 24 September: Closure of Warwick Road between the Dukes Meadow Drive roundabout and the site entrance, while we lay the sewer across the road. We’ll aim to finish this before 24 September if possible.

 25 September to 21 October: Three-way lights on Warwick Road between the Dukes Meadow Drive roundabout and the site entrance, while we repair the road and replace the footpath.

 22 October to 14 November: Two-way lights on a shorter section of Warwick Road, between the Dukes Meadow Drive roundabout and a point near Firtree Close, while we install a smaller section of sewer.

Further work should have no impact on traffic, and is due to be finished by the end of December.
