Graeme Pringle 14/05/16  Advance notice – No eBulletin for a week in June

Diocesan staff make every effort to ensure that articles submitted for the diocesan eBulletin are processed within a few days. However, due to a combination of holidays and other staff absence, there is one week in June when this will not be possible.

Any articles submitted after Thursday 26 May will not be processed the following week. This means that they will not be distributed until June 11.

Graeme Pringle 14/05/16  News Story – Bishop says EDL march “not in our name”

The Bishop of Coventry and the Director of the Coventry Refugee & Migrant Centre have written an open letter in response to the English Defence League’s announcement they are to hold a demonstration in the city next weekend. It says, the “people who live and work in Coventry – want to send a clear message to the EDL and to the rest of the country: this march is not in our name”. The letter has been signed by over 150 other local leaders.

Graeme Pringle 14/05/16  News Story – Exploring other futures for Offa House

The Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth, Bishop of Coventry, has met with residents of Offchurch to update them about on-going discussions with the Home Office regarding Offa House. He also mentioned other potential uses of the house which are also to be explored.

Graeme Pringle 14/05/16  Come along to the Pentecost Beacon Event

Everyone is invited to join the Pentecost celebrations at Coventry Cathedral this coming Sunday, 15 May. It is one of six national ‘Beacon Events’ being promoted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. It’s also the culmination of the 2016 Diocesan Pilgrimage. The event is free and no tickets are necessary.

Ryan Finnegan 13/05/16  Bank Holiday Crafts and Teas – Burton Dassett

The ever popular Bank Holiday teas served at All Saint’s Church, Burton Dassett which is situated adjacent to the Burton Dassett Country Park, will be supplemented this time around by craft stalls and a pre-loved sale of art on Monday 30 May.

There will also be a model railway, name the chicken competition and other family fun activities. Delicious home made cakes, tea and coffee will be served from 11am until 5pm no matter what the weather may be; so go along and help to raise funds for the ‘Cathedral in the Hills’.

Ryan Finnegan 12/05/16 Flyer  Change Effortlessly and Help Others do the Same

Wire and fire you brain at this 1 day workshop exploring the psycho-spiritual process of change. Integrating the psychology of change with biblical wisdom and scripture, the day will provide insight on making lasting change to behaviour, thinking, feeling and choices. Alison Mesher of Coaching Christ will be the guest presenter.

Graeme Pringle 12/05/16 Poster  ‘Reimagining Europe’ in Coventry Cathedral – 19 May

Everyone is invited to join the Pentecost celebrations at Coventry Cathedral this coming Sunday, 15 May. It is one of six national ‘Beacon Events’ being promoted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. It’s also the culmination of the 2016 Diocesan Pilgrimage. The event is free and no tickets are necessary.

Refreshments are being served from 4:00 pm within the old cathedral ruins, to which everyone is welcome. The main event then starts next door at 5:00 pm in the new cathedral.

Admission is free and no tickets are needed. Everyone is welcome.

The Church Buildings Team have produced a useful handbook for Churchwardens and anyone else involved in the care and maintenance of church buildings. It is a beginner’s guide to everything from Faculties to Quinquennial Inspections, memorials to trees, and everything in between. Ryan Finnegan 29/04/16 Flyer  REMINDER – Transforming your Work with LICC and Workcare

Life at work can be challenging for us especially as Christians. This evening will give you a flavour of how you can live the difference Jesus makes in your workplace including ideas and stories of how you can transform your workplace.

Ruth Walker of LICC (London Institute of Contemporary Christianity) will speak and introduce ‘Transforming Work’. It takes place on Tuesday 28 June at 7:15pm at St James, Styvechale CV3 5BT.
