We are holding our first public Open Day on Friday 13th May between 2.30pm – 6pm and we hope you will share the event with people you know who might be interested.
Often people think that Hospices are dark and scary places. We hope by opening our doors we can not only raise awareness of our services in the local community, but also show people the warm, relaxed and caring atmosphere we have here at Katharine House Hospice.
We would like to give people the opportunity to find out more about what we do, from specialist palliative care and complementary therapies suck as music and art therapy, to the support provided by the Bereavement Service and chaplaincy. There will also be a chance to find out how people can get involved as an individual or business and support the Hospice by volunteering their time or taking part in a fundraising event.
Visitors can attend a talk by one of the Hospice’s clinical staff and join an informal tour of the Hospice and grounds. There will also be the opportunity to browse information stands and chat to staff and volunteers over a drink and a cupcake. We anticipate that visitors will stay for approximately an hour; however, there are welcome to stay longer should they wish.
