The May Prayer Diary includes news stories from Rugby Deanery.
Please find attached two versions of the Prayer Diary. The consecutive format is recommended for displaying on a computer screen, or printing for home use; the booklet format is recommended for printing a double-sided booklet.
You can also download the Prayer Diary from the diocesan website. We aim to publish it on or before the 20th day of the preceding month (although it is sometimes delayed).

|Graeme Pringle 22/04/16|| News Story – Pilgrimage of Prayer – 5 to 15 May
Ascension Day sees the beginning of our Diocesan Pilgrimage of Prayer ‘From Cloud to Fire’, praying for the giving and the work of the Holy Spirit in us and amongst us as we approach the Feast of Pentecost. This ties in with the Archbishops’ Call to Prayer ‘Thy Kingdom Come’.

|Ryan Finnegan 22/04/16|| Coventry Prayer House at Pentecost
During the Diocesan Pilgrimage, ‘From Cloud To Fire’, Coventry Prayer House, 3-5 Priory Row, near the Cathedral, will be open with prayer stations based around ‘waiting for the Holy Spirit’ and ‘The Lord’s Prayer’.
Drop in between 10am and 4pm from 5 May till 12 May and from 10am till 10pm on 13 May and 14 May. The Coventry Prayer House team are offering diocesan youth groups the chance to pray for an evening, or overnight, from 5 May to 11 May.

|Ryan Finnegan 22/04/16 Poster|| Silent Eucharist
During the week leading up to Pentecost St James, Bulkington will be offering a daily ‘Silent Eucharist’. This is a reflective service conducted with no words or music.

|Ryan Finnegan 22/04/16 flyer|| Reconciling a Wounded Planet – My Home, Our Future
An evening of inspirational talks on climate change, biodiversity change and care of our environment from a spiritual and practical perspective will be hosted by All Saints, Harbury, at 7:30pm on 11 May.
The speakers are Godfrey Armitage, Diocesan Environment Officer. The Church response to environmental change? Why does the diocese think it is important? What can our churches do? Where does this fit in Christian worship?
George Browning, an organic farmer who has built his own eco-house and has adapted his life to reduce his carbon footprint to the minimum. What motivated him in his choices? What could we be doing in our own lives?
|Ryan Finnegan 22/04/16|| Faith and Peaceful Relations Forum – 10 May
The Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations will be hosting the first meeting of their Faith and Peaceful Relations Forum at the Coventry University Campus and all are invited.
The aim of the Forum is to provide an opportunity for all those involved with faith and community groups in Coventry, and the wider region, to come together to explore key issues and their experience of working in the community in an open and inclusive environment.

|Ryan Finnegan 22/04/16|| MIX – Bidford Baptist Church
MIX is an ecumenical service held once a month at the Barn (Bidford Baptist Church). It is for people of all ages with learning disabilities and their families, friends and carers. There is music, drama, prayer, dance, Bible reading, story-telling, all form part of their worship, followed by creative activities, games and food and drink.
They enjoy worshipping God together in a very relaxed atmosphere. MIX is on the 3rd Sunday of the month and starts at 3:30pm. The next few MIXs are on Sunday 15 May and Sunday 19 June.

Both modules are running on Monday evenings 7:00-9:30pm, 6th June – 4th July
Rugby: Understanding the Bible – Renewing Your Life will give you the tools you need to read the Bible with fresh eyes. You will gain new ways of reading and understanding the Bible through different types of interpretation.
Budbrooke: Exploring Themes in the Bible covers the themes of Names, Trinity, Messiah, Water and Gardens. You will develop understanding in these areas and be encouraged to think about how this understanding affects the way you think about ordinary things in life.

|Ryan Finnegan 25/02/16 Flyer Calendar|| REMINDER – Shakespeare 400: History, Heritage and Faith
In honour of Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary, The Collegiate Church of St Mary, Warwick, is proud to present a major exhibition featuring the Shakespeare First Folio (1623) and a first edition of the King James Bible (1611).
‘Shakespeare 400: History, Heritage & Faith’ will provide visitors the rare opportunity of seeing these two iconic texts, ‘twin pillars’ of Western society, displayed together.
The exhibition will run from mid April to the end of June 2016. Admission fees are £3.50 for Adults and £2.50 for Children and Concessions.
