|Claire Strachan 11/02/16|| Wolfdon Foundation Fabric Repair Grant
Churchcare’s Wolfson Foundation fabric repair grant applications close on 29 February and churches listed Grade I and II* may wish to consider applying to this as source of match-funding for the Roof Repair Fund (which would be noted in their application form as ‘unsecured’ income). Parishes that have less than £10,000 worth of repairs needed, so are not eligible for the Roof Repair Fund, can also apply for a Wolfson grant.

The NCT’s 2016 community and repair grants programmes are now open. Repair Grants – £10,000+ and above towards the cost of urgent essential structural repair projects. A small number of grants are available at £40,000 and above. Community grants – £10,000+ and above for projects which introduce facilities to enable increased community use of places of worship. All types of community projects will be considered, but should include lavatories or catering facilities. Please visit the website for more details about the grants, eligibility and how to apply.

If you intend to apply for funding in the second round of the Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund, the deadline is Friday 26 February. If you require further information or guidance on your application, there is an extremely helpful explanation on the Church of England’s ChurchCare website about the scope of the Fund and how to go about applying to it. You will need a supporting letter from the Archdeacon to go with your application. Please complete the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NF6M67L by 23rd February at the latest in order for Claire Strachan to arrange this for you.

Tim Brooke is leading a workshop at St John’s Church, Berkswell on Saturday 19 March. He will look at how Dante’s pilgrimage from Inferno to Paradise in the Divine Comedy can make an important contribution to 21st century spirituality.
The workshop is designed both as an introduction for those who know nothing at all about Dante and as an opportunity for others to share how Dante has changed their view of this world and the next.

Feba is a Christian mission agency focusing on the use of radio and other media, working with partners and communities across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Their partner from the Horn of Africa is visiting the UK next month and they’ll be going to Red Hill Christian Centre on Monday 7 March for three events.
At 10:30am there will be morning coffee then at 2:30pm there will be afternoon tea followed by evening supper at 7:30pm.

Hope Coventry are planning their biggest ever Pentecost Celebration weekend in Broadgate. Mike Pilavachi of Soul Survivor will speak at the dedicated Youth Evening (11-19 years) on the Friday night at 6:30pm as well as the all-age gathering on the Saturday evening at 7pm.
A Soul Survivor band, led by Tom Smith, the main worship leader at Soul Survivor 2015, will lead worship on both evenings, as well as taking part in the free Big Birthday Bash event during the day on Saturday.
