Wellesbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team Report 26 – 10.06.15


This report from the Wellesbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team covers the wards of Snitterfield, Wellesbourne, Kineton and Burton Dassett.


The following incidents, for the period between 31.05.15 to 10.06.15, have been reported and the team are appealing for witnesses:


Snitterfield Ward

Charlecote Park

Vehicle crime – 10.06.15/099

Front and rear windows of silver Ford Focus were smashed whilst the vehicle was parked at a lay-by in the area. A black bag with a Swiss flag, a First Direct cheque book and a pair of boxing gloves and feet pads were stolen.


Wellesbourne Ward

Wellesbourne – Hopkins Way

Theft – 01.06.15/079

Wheelie bin left out for collection was stolen.


Wellesbourne – Nurseries Road

Theft – 02.06.15/365

Offenders climbed over secured gate to rear garden and removed a child’s black and silver toy scooter. SNT made house to house enquiries which were negative.


Wellesbourne – Sainsbury’s

Theft – 06.06.15/139

Unknown white male, slim build, 6’ – placed two pillows in trolley and then put alcohol in a reusable bag in the trolley. He then exited via the self-service checkout. Pillows worth £20 and alcohol £300. CCTV evidence has been retained.


Wellesbourne – Sainsbury’s

Theft – 09.06.15/196

Thought to be the same offender as above filled trolley with alcohol but abandoned it when he thought staff were watching. He drove off in a red vehicle, possibly a Mondeo or Jaguar XF. No VRN obtained.


Wellesbourne – Elliott Drive

Theft – 07.06.15/028

Over the weekend, he passenger side window of Jaguar smashed and front registration plate stolen. SNT visited, issued anti-theft number plates and performed a house to house leaflet drop.


Wellesbourne- Sports and Community Centre area

Theft – 08.06.15/057

White Apple iPhone 5S 32GB stolen from unattended bag whilst owner was in the park. Value £500.


Morton Morrell – College

Vehicle crime – 08.06.15/395

Black BMW broken into by smashing rear offside window. Work clothes and jacket with wallet containing Santander debit card; Barclay Card and Nationwide Visa as well as £10 cash, a driver’s licence stolen as well as a Nokia mobile (works owned). A Dell laptop (works owned) was taken from the boot – this is encrypted. CCTV evidence was obtained and has been acted upon.
