Graeme Pringle 05/06/15 Guidance  PCC resolutions relating to women bishops and priests

As a result of decisions taken by General Synod in November, provision has been made for those who, on grounds of theological conviction, are unable to receive the ministry of women bishops or priests.

This provision, in the House of Bishops’ Declaration on the Ministry of Bishops and Priests, replaces the arrangements put in place more than twenty years ago when women were first ordained as priests (Resolutions A, B and C).

The Church of England has now issued some guidance notes for PCC members (see attached).

Ryan Finnegan 04/06/15  Baroque Concert at Holy Trinity, Coventry – 27 June

“Magnificat” will include vocal music from the Baroque Era Performed by the Charpentier Ensemble, a small group of professional singers and music students. It is beautiful, rarely performed music by Charpentier, Purcell, Campra, Monteverdi and others, including solo and ensemble items.

It will take place on 27 June 2015, at 7:30pm, at Holy Trinity, Coventry. Tickets, including refreshments, cost £10 for adults, £5 for students and £2 for under 18’s.

Ryan Finnegan 04/06/15 Poster Press release  Seeing The Sutherland With New Eyes – 30 June

The Friends Lecture will take place on Tuesday 30 June at 7pm. Alison Lister will give an illustrated lecture in Coventry Cathedral, on the results of her recent month-long conservation work on the great Sutherland Tapestry, one of the most iconic images of the late 20th Century.

Professor Louise Campbell will introduce the lecture and speak about the significance of the tapestry in the story of modern art. After the Lecture there will be a wine reception and the chance to talk to the conservators.

Ryan Finnegan 04/06/15 Flyer Booking form  WCHCT – ‘Celebration of England’ – 12 July

Warwickshire and Coventry Historic Churches Trust are very pleased to announce that the fabulous violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen along with her pianist Huw Watkins will be performing for them at their summer event ‘A Celebration of England’.

They will also have poetry readings by ‘Lynn Farleigh’ during the evening and the ‘Kineton Bell Ringers’ have kindly agreed to ring a quarter peal of the church bells before the start of the concert. This year’s event will be held at the beautiful All Saints Church in Burton Dassett, Warwickshire, CV47 2AB.
