A Quiet Day entitled ‘Forgiveness’ led by Karin Castle is happening at Offa House on Monday 22 June from 10am until 4pm.

Bring your own packed lunch, but tea and coffee provided. The cost is £10 and numbers are limited.

Ryan Finnegan 28/05/15 Flyer  Upcoming Quiet Days at Offa House

Further dates, in June and July, have been added to the programme of Quiet Days at Offa House. They include a Saturday (11 July) and a “drop-in when you like” day with regular reflections led by Bishop John (8 July).

Quiet Days usually start at 10am and finish at 4pm. Bring your own packed lunch, but tea and coffee provided. The cost is £10 and numbers are limited.

Ryan Finnegan 28/05/15 Poster  Inspire – Encountering God in Word and Spirit – 28 June

Inspire – Encountering God in Word and Spirit will take place at St Peter’s, Kineton on Sunday 28 June at 7:30pm (please note the change of venue).

Inspire is a termly service with New Wine/Spring Harvest style worship and teaching. The service will have 30 mins of worship, 30 mins of teaching and 30 mins of ministry and reflection. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Ryan Finnegan 28/05/15 Booking form  Retreat on Psalm 139 – 18-20 September

‘Knowing me, Knowing you’ is a creative residential retreat exploring and experiencing Psalm 139 at House of Bread, Shipston on Stour.

During this experiential weekend they will explore some of the riches in this Psalm through a blend of stillness, prayer, individual reflection, creative activity, silence, group discussion and playfulness.

Ryan Finnegan 28/05/15 Poster  International Gala Concert – Rutter UK Première – 4 July

In a unique event, two hundred voices, the English Symphony Orchestra and four conductors will raise the roof of Coventry Cathedral on 4 July. John Rutter’s music is known and loved throughout the world.

They celebrate not only the UK première of his latest commission but also his presence to conduct the new work entitled “Canticles of Creation”. Bob Chilcott will conduct extracts from his Requiem and St. John Passion. Paul Leddington Wright, Musical Director of Saint Michael’s Singers, will conduct his Te Deum written for the choir’s 50th anniversary in 2010.

Ryan Finnegan 28/05/15 Flyer  Mid Fosse Barn Service – 28 June

The Mid Fosse Parishes are hosting a barn service at Chesterton Fields Farm, CV33 9JY on 28 June at 10:30am. This is the first event of its kind in the area and they are hoping to make it a special and happy occasion for all.

They want to celebrate the gift of living in this glorious location and to help them, they have Bishop John joining them as well as a couple of choirs drawn from their communities. The service will be followed by refreshments. The offering will be donated to a recognised farming charity.

Ellie Clack 26/05/15  Cheylesmore Credit Union outreach opens

South Coventry Churches Together have partnered with Coventry & District Credit Union to create a branch of the union to serve the local area.

The service was opened on the 14th May 2015 by the former Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor Hazel Noonan.

John Scouller, a member of St James’, Styvechale, who has been directly involved in getting this service started, writes about the new initiative.
